Is wasabi powder made by real Wasabia japonica?
In fact, wasabi powder manufacturers all over the world, include Japan and Korea, they use
horseradish instead of Wasabia japonica. Horseradish, mustard and Wasabia japonica are
three kinds of different plants.

Why not using Wasabia japonica for the main material of wasabi powder?

sifting, drying and milling. Horseradish is hotter than Wasabia japonica and the cost of
Wasabia japonica is almost 10 times higher than horseradish. So companies use horseradish
for wasabi powder instead of Wasabia japonica.

What is mustard?
Mustard is usually made for mustard sauce, honey mustard…etc. In Taiwan, people should
have experiences of eating hotdog with small pack of yellow sauce buying from convenience
stores, eating chicken nuggets with mustard sauce in the McDonald’s or enjoying German
Pork Knuckle with honey mustard sauce in restaurants.
